Guidelines for Accreditation in the Rank and Status of Accredited Commercial Diplomat
Established with statutory rights and plenipotentiary powers as the first ever professional standard and symbol of competency, integrity, proficiency, professionalism, and the highest accreditation status for high-performing, highly-skilled, highly-competent and highly-influential commercial diplomats.
Accreditation of commercial diplomats demonstrates proven impeccable integrity-inspired judgments, integrity-focused decision-making ability, integrity-driven representatory policy-making capability, and professionalism. It also shows serious commitment to commercial diplomatic career and responsible commercial diplomatic service.
Accreditation status provides highly-qualified commercial diplomats with recognition of personal and professional achievements in attaining and maintaining high standards of advanced skills-specific knowledge, specialism-based expertise, integrity, professional experience and probity.
Role of the Presidium
The appointment to the rank and status of Accredited Commercial Diplomat (Chartered Diplomat) is by nomination and recommendation, with final approval by the Presidium.
The prospective accredited commercial diplomat shall satisfy the Court Assembly for Accreditation of his/her ability to bring dynamism, vigour, dignity, respect, integrity and honour of a distinguished inspirational leader, with proven impeccable integrity to bear, in professional practice, policy advocacy, and responsible commercial diplomatic practice, before final confirmation of appointment as Chartered Diplomat by the Chairman of the Presidium.

Additional Eligibility and Suitability Criteria
A highly-skilled specialist, highly-knowledgeable practitioner, highly-competent advocate, highly-proficient and highly-competent diplomatist, highly-experienced counsel and highly-influential accomplished learned commercial diplomatist may be eligible, suitable and qualified for accreditation:
- as an acknowledgement of their valuable contribution to the standardization, harmonization, liberalization, modernization, internationalization, institutionalization, professionalization, extraterritorialization and better impactful regulation of the role of commercial diplomats and commercial diplomatic practice, and improvement of the commercial diplomatic sector and sector-specific services, the commercial diplomatic system and the strengthening of the innovation capability of the commercial diplomatic profession and system.
The aspiring practitioner-candidate shall be required and or expected to:
- possess quantitative and analytical commercial-judicial diplomatic skills,
- be a seasoned boardroom executive and respected commercial diplomatic leader in the commerce and industry or commercial diplomatic service sector,
- be bringing proven significant years of practical hands-on competency-based commercial diplomatic experience to the profession,
- have been prepared to join the new uniquely dynamic class of accomplished learned commercial diplomatists and the commercial diplomatic profession, whose membership will mark a bold new chapter for the commercial diplomatic profession and the commercial diplomatic system,
- have gained hands-on experience in commercial-judicial diplomatic sector-specific services and industry-wide operations (This may include or have included knowledge generation and dissemination, designing of global and country trade, investment and commerce related policies and agreements or treaties, and the building of commercial diplomatic institutions to achieve inclusive and sustainable growth in developed, developing and or least-developed economies).
- have been hugely respected in the commercial diplomatic profession, system-wide practice, service and industry, and by clients, and been a fantastic commercial diplomatic team player, specially known for his or her commitment to nurturing skills-specific knowledge, specialism-based expertise, evidence-based proficiency and talent within their teams,
- be, or have been a distinguished accomplished learned practitioner and specialism-based expert with robust background in academia, government, and or related-relevant sector-specific policy,
- be serving as head or senior-level official in an acceptable institution, and where applicable, as a Professor of Practice in related-relevant field or discipline,
- have a career that encompass significant contributions to both academia and civil, public-private and or foreign commercial diplomatic service,
- where applicable, be or have been involved in the co-founding of an acceptable platform for the elevation of commercial diplomacy and commercial diplomatic related-relevant sector-specific practices, including discourses in their jurisdiction, country or region,
- where applicable, as a Minister or Secretary of State for Trade and Investment, Commerce and Industry, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Maritime Affairs or Commercial Diplomatic Services, had spearheaded critical commercial diplomatic sector-specific services reform for a period of time,
- have had pivotal roles on a Board and or as a Chairman, where key commercial-judicial diplomatic roles had been played, core function and value-added part had been played in shaping their country's commercial diplomatic sector-specific services policy,
- where applicable, with a PhD in an acceptable related-relevant field, from an acceptable institution, and a deep commitment to the development, advancement, growth and enhancement of the commercial diplomatic profession, system-wide practice, practice-oriented specialisms, sector-specific services and vocational education and training-related comprehensive learning,
- have been recognized for their integrity-driven representatory policy-making, integrity-focused decision-making, and specialism-based expertise in related-relevant field,
- have continued to influence the facilitation of mutually beneficial cross-border cooperations and sustainable strategic collaborative partnerships between economies or multinational corporations
- have continued to influence strategic collaborative partnerships on trade, investment, commerce or commercial diplomatic sector-specific services and education, leveraging his or her extensive experience in both vocational training-related comprehensive learning, academic institutions and governmental spheres,
- be bringing or have brought a unique blend of specialism-based expertise to his or her various related-relevant sector-specific roles, having served as a senior-level official with a successful specific commercial diplomatic role, and where possible and applicable, more recently as Minister or Secretary of State, Ambassador, Minister Plenipotentiary, Director General or equivalent,
- be, or have been a truly outstanding practitioner, with proven specialism-based expertise, competence, professionalism, commitment, passion and dedication to the development and advancement of responsible commercial diplomacy and value-added function of commercial diplomats,
- have been able to enhance the role of commercial diplomacy and value-added function of commercial diplomats,
- be, or have been committed to bringing great honour, dignity and respect to the commercial diplomatic profession and practice, with distinction, excellence, and or merit, on the global stage.
As an Ambassador, Senior Executive, Consul-General, Principal Officer for Commercial Diplomatic Service, Minister Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Minister or Secretary of State or an experienced Diplomat with a broad perspective on commercial-judicial diplomacy, trade and investment, commerce and industry, agriculture and natural resources, geopolitics, and up to 20 year commercial diplomatic career across civil, public-private and foreign commercial diplomatic service, public service, and or commercial diplomatic roles in regional and or central multilateral banking and consulting:
- with his or her deep understanding of commercial diplomacy in government and political processes, business and international trade policy challenges in an evolving global economy being complemented by particular expertise in commercial-judicial diplomacy, and the drive towards standardization, harmonization, liberalization, modernization, internationalization, institutionalization, professionalization, extraterritorialization and better impactful regulation.
Areas of specialism-based expertise expected to span across related-relevant sectors and economies, and include, but not limited to:
- trade, investment and commerce-related policy analysis,
- facilitation of mutually beneficial cross-border cooperation and sustainable strategic collaborative partnership,
- negotiation of international trade, investment and commerce-related policies and agreements or treaties,
- promotion of goods and services between economies or multinational corporations,
- the resolution, settlement and management of disputes in international trade, investment and commerce, through effective commercial-judicial diplomatic engagements, arbitration, mediation, and or conciliation,
- advocating responsible commercial diplomacy,
- policy, regulation, and standardization.
Commercial Diplomacy is developing, advancing, growing, emerging, and rapidly evolving as a uniquely dynamic global force for regional prosperity, with strong future-ready ambitions, especially in strategic commercial-judicial diplomatic sectors and economies. Therefore, ACCD-CDRA may accredit ad personam highly-influential accomplished learned commercial diplomatists as QCD or Commercial, while continuing to create certainty in an uncertain commercial diplomatic sector-specific profession, field and services.
Better Impactful Commercial Diplomat
In this ever-changing political and global commercial diplomatic landscape, it's crucial, and of significant importance for commercial diplomats and commercial diplomatic leaders to be equipped with the appropriate skills-specific knowledge and specialism-based expertise, competence and strategies to steer the ministries or departments of trade and investment, commerce and industry, agriculture and natural resources, or commercial diplomatic service, multinational corporations or multilateral organizations confidently into the future.
Therefore, the practitioner-candidate shall be required or expected to have, in their current or previous related-relevant commercial diplomatic roles:
- helped in cementing close collaboration on a wide range and broader spectrum of commercial diplomatic issues that are of significant importance to either their country's commercial diplomatic interests or other economies including, where applicable, the green transition, with a particular focus on the related-relevant sector-specific services and industry, especially those whose relevance and significant importance have become paramount importance in Europe,
- assisted in fostering or facilitating mutually beneficial and acceptable engagements to support in increasing trade, investment and commerce-related activities between either economies, multinational corporations, multilateral organizations or others, while encouraging the expansion of trade and investment, commerce and industry, agriculture and natural resources, maritime services and industry in appropriate directions,
- consistently guided governments, intergovernmental organizations, multinational corporations, diplomatic institutions, multilateral organizations, central, commercial, investment or regional banks, or public-private sector entities and companies or enterprises to growth through effective engagements and commercial diplomacy, facilitating major trade, investment and commerce in their respective countries and helping to shape international trade, investment and commerce-related policies and strategies affecting foreign commercial diplomatic services and overseas markets for a very wide range of public-private sector entities and companies or enterprises from SMEs to major multinationals,
- led related-relevant global commercial diplomatic organizations, managing teams of significant number of high-quality accomplished learned commercial diplomats, knowing how to build clarity and efficiency in commercial diplomatic systems and regulatory processes, as well as developing a wider scope and integrity-focused commercial-judicial diplomatic culture,
- had a detailed grasp of governmental commercial diplomatic affairs,
- been well connected and highly-influential internationally, possessing the ability to work with and influence governments, policy makers and decision-makers on commercial diplomatic issues and affairs, being a senior commercial diplomatic executive or equivalent who has held several international trade policy and or commercial diplomatic sector-specific services leadership roles, including at an intergovernmental organization, and or central, commercial, investment, industrial or regional bank,
- served as Head or Deputy Head of Commercial Diplomatic Services at a government ministry, department, where he or she had led numerous initiatives to enhance their organization or government’s commercial diplomatic talent development programmes and spearheaded key commercial-judicial diplomatic initiatives to modernize commercial diplomacy and commercial diplomatic practice,
- risen through the ranks in the commercial diplomatic sector-specific services leadership roles, with his or her core specialism-based expertise and areas including international trade, investment and commerce-related policies, arbitration talent development, and commercial diplomatic transformation,
- brought a deep understanding of the concept of commercial diplomacy, which is related-relevant to the ACCD-CDRA’s mission-driven objectives and vision-specific goals, and structure, having played a central role in shaping their country or organization's commercial diplomatic structure, and institutional frameworks, mechanisms and standards, expanding its capital base through effective commercial diplomacy and commercial diplomatic service, and assisted in leading dispute resolution, settlement and management, including response efforts across the commercial diplomatic sector in their jurisdiction and or region,
- seen the ACCD-CDRA as an extraterritorial rules-based representatory force for the standardization, harmonization, liberalization, modernization and better impactful regulation of the commercial diplomatic profession, and for the protection, promotion, and safeguarding of the dignity and integrity of commercial diplomats wherever they are,
- possessed a wealth of applicable sector-specific experience gathered in several prestigious related-relevant sector-specific intergovernmental organisations,
- being aware of the significant importance of the ACCD-CDRA's mission-driven objectives and vision-specific goals for the commercial diplomatic system, being an extraterritorial rules-based and diverse institution that serves all jurisdictions, areas, economies and broader region, through their exposure, specialism-based expertise, international background, and Mastership or equivalent qualification in:
Ø Commercial Diplomacy or Commercial Diplomatic Practice,
Ø International Trade Policy and WTO Law
Ø International Trade, Investment and Commerce-related Arbitration and Mediation, or
Ø other related-relevant discipline from a renowned institution or vocational training provider acceptable to the ACCD-CDRA.
- assisted in developing reports on the role of their organization or government in advancing its commercial diplomatic service, including exploring how their government or multilateral organization could enhance the role of its commercial diplomatic services, by advocating responsible commercial diplomacy, advancing the concept of commercial diplomacy, advancing the role and function of commercial diplomats, enhancing trade finance, streamlining complex commercial diplomatic operations, and supporting their government or organization’s ambitions as a commercial diplomatic hub,
- had sat on a steering committee of a related-relevant sector-specific institution which sought to support the career development of commercial diplomats.
Suitably qualified, recognised, approved and recommended practitioner-candidates will be selected and authorised ad personam by the Presidium, upon acceptance and completion of selection, and all successful candidates shall be informed of their selection, acceptance, and accreditation status.
