Enforcement of Obedience
Principal Functions
CoDRA functions as the standards authority on commercial diplomatic education, practise and service, with the right to enforce obedience:
- It is independent, and empowered to deal with all matters which in its opinion may jeopardise the maintenance and safeguarding of integrity of the profession of commercial diplomacy, the professional body and members on all continents;
- It has complete control over the unique commercial diplomatic profession with which it is concerned, and is diligently committed to uplifting and impacting the unique and noble profession;
- It is responsible for setting the standards of education, training, and professional development, including Mandatory Qualifying Courses, and the Post-qualification Continuing Professional Development, together with the further training requirements for Qualified Policy Advocates, and Qualified Certified Diplomats (QCD);
- It is responsible for setting of policy and guidelines, as well as the qualification, and accreditation procedures for the commercial diplomatic profession;
- It has the power to suspend, or completely exclude (by the removal from the register of Qualified Commercial Diplomats) of the name of any member found guilty of misconduct, or for bringing the body, and or the profession into disrepute;
- Any member found guilty by Council of plagiarism in their qualifying research projects, even if not financially motivated, shall be suspended, or completely excluded by the removal of his or her name from the register of Qualified Commercial Diplomats;
- Professional examinations, qualifications, and diplomatic awards on commercial diplomatic education and practise shall continue to be directly regulated by the Council which alone authorises the requisite qualifications;
- Consequences of misdemeanour may not be so serious if found to be minor, however, misconducting practitioners are reprimanded or debared by Council;
- No member/practitioner may be professionally accredited unless his or her proven relevant practical professional experience and qualification have been fully assessed, and impartially accepted by Council.
